Chiropractic for Sports Injuries

World record breaking middle distance runner Steve Cram believes that “chiropractic is a fast and effective way of treating and preventing injuries”.
Given that sports injuries are typically related to functional disorders of the joints, it is advisable for sports people to include chiropractic treatment as part of a balanced training programme.
Our Chiropractors have completed post-graduate training in Sports Chiropractic and are highly qualified to diagnose and treat sports related injuries.
It is not unusual for a sportsperson to have an undiagnosed mechanical dysfunction without being aware of any obvious clinical symptoms. In this instance, they may be unable to perform to their maximum capability and prone to injury when applying extra physical effort.

When treating sports injuries, we believe it is vital for our Chiropractors to identify and treat the source of the problem. A rehabilitation programme is established to optimise recovery time, and, as the pain eases, we aim to prevent recurrence. Alongside this, we also place emphasis on the prevention of such injuries and advise our patients how to enhance future performance.

Sporting Teens

We strongly advise young athletes to pay close attention to their backs when playing sports throughout their school careers.
We are happy to offer advice on lighter warm up exercises to reduce the likelihood of muscle strain. We can also help with a range of straightforward, BCA approved slow stretches which are specifically designed to strengthen the back area.
